Prepare to mark your calendars, as the new season of Unnamed Memory is scheduled to launch in January 2025 and to stoke the anticipatory fire, a short commercial for the upcoming season has been released.

A Recap of Unnamed Memory, Season One

The first season of Unnamed Memory wrapped up this week, completing a heart-racing journey encompassing 12 episodes, all of which are available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The production team at ENGI, led by Director Kazuya Miura - famed for his contributions to "Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs", worked tirelessly to introduce audiences to a gripping anime universe. Assisting Miura was screenplay maestro Deko Akao, credited for acclaimed titles such as "Komi Can’t Communicate". The musical backdrop to this enthralling escapade was masterfully created by Akito Matsuda, renowned for his compositions in "Sound! Euphonium" and "Liz and the Blue Bird".

The Birth of Unnamed Memory

The Unnamed Memory franchise started as a light novel series penned by the talented Kuji Furumiya. It was later adapted into a manga version by Naoki Koshimizu. Both versions garnered considerable acclaim, eventually making their way to American readers through Yen Press. The intriguing plot presents a tale of witches, ancient mages who wield unbounded power, poised to cause devastation. The narrative follows Oscar, the crown prince of the influential kingdom of Farsas, who is cursed to never father an heir. With the intention of lifting this curse, he seeks the mightiest witch in the continent, Tinasha. As the story unrolls, Oscar makes the audacious request for Tinasha to become his bride, adding more spice to the unfolding drama.

Recognition and Accolades

Originally published on the website “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” in 2012, Unnamed Memory witnessed a rise in popularity when Kadokawa picked it up for print editions in 2019, further enhanced by chibi's captivating artwork. Further solidifying its position in the realm of anime, the guidebook "Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi!" (translated as "This Light Novel Is Amazing!") bestowed upon the light novels the premier spot in 2020. The arrival of the second season is bound to bring more recognition and fanfare to this incredible anime series.
