Overlord: A New Adventure Arises

Remarkable news for Overlord fans! The anime's creators have confirmed the release date for the highly anticipated film, Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom. Mark your calendars for September 20, 2024, when the big screen feature is set to hit cinemas across Japan, announcing a thrilling new chapter in the epic fantasy saga. OxT further enhances the climactic aura of the film with their custom-made theme song, "WHEELER-DEALER," contributing to an already electrifying preview of the movie.

International Screening and Production

There's promising news for international Overlord enthusiasts as well. Crunchyroll, the global streaming giant, has previously unveiled plans to distribute the film in diverse regions, with more details forthcoming. Renowned for promoting quality anime content, Crunchyroll is the go-to platform for all seasons of Overlord, thus enhancing the accessibility and reach of the popular movie.

Naoyuki Itou, the director of the Overlord anime series, along with the well-known anime studio MADHOUSE, are the creative brains behind this exciting release. The narrative of the movie draws inspiration from the acclaimed light novel series by creators Kugane Maruyama and So-bin, thereby promising an enthralling blend of fantasy and adventure.

A Glimpse into Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom

The plot of the film unravels an intriguing storyline. After a decade plus two years of gaming, Momonga, a diehard fan of his favored MMORPG, finds himself in the unique position of being in the game he loves indefinitely. As the narrative proceeds, his avatar gains the position of Sorcerer King Ains Ooal Gown.

Once a prosperous land, The Sacred Kingdom now stands on the verge of devastation. For years, an enormous wall safeguarded them from external invasions, ensuring lasting peace. Nevertheless, this tranquility shatters with the advent of the terrifying Demon Emperor Jaldabaoth and his malevolent demi-human army.

Fearing a similar fate, the adjacent region, the Slane Theocracy, finds itself seeking help from its erstwhile enemies, the Sorcerer Kingdom. Responding to the desperate call, Momonga, now the Sorcerer King Ains Ooal Gown, unites the Sorcerer Kingdom and its formidable undead army to fight alongside the Sacred Kingdom and the Slane Theocracy, aiming to triumph over the Demon Emperor.
