  1. To be yourself with each other, flaws & all. To accept each other even if you don't believe in what they do or say, you believe in them as a human being.

  6. What do you think about Daylight Savings Time? Does your area observe it? Do you wish they would stop changing clocks back & forth? Tomorrow is DST Ends so we Fall Back. It's easier than the Spring one but still throws the body off.

  8. We have one. While it's nice having digital to be eco, if there's no power, the company was hacked (it happens more than people know!), I like having paper copies. I got all my medical records on paper & have them organized. We go through the papers every so often & keep them organized.

  9. It's been years this debate has been going on. And a lot of people with money tend to lean towards the console. A lot of folks also prefer PC because of it's multi usage scenario. Ans the thing is that PC is always a better choice if you consider long term investment and also outside the gaming context. Which one do you choose and why?

  10. The rich think they are "all that" & can do whatever they want. That's what they are trying to do with Maui. They used the "fires" as an excuse to drive out locals & make it where only the rich can afford it. Nobody has more Rights than anybody else. I don't care if it's skin color, wealth, belief. We are all human beings.

  11. In the United States, the principle of separating church and state has been a longstanding topic of discussion, and this extends to public education. The presence of religious references in government, such as the phrase 'in God we trust', can make it challenging to completely exclude religious elements from public institutions. However, a key focus in public schools should be to foster an environment where students of all religious backgrounds feel welcome and are provided with an equitable educational experience. This includes ensuring that there is no discrimination based on religious beliefs or the lack thereof. On the other hand, the role of religion in addressing moral and cultural issues is a broader societal matter. While some may argue that a decline in religious observance could impact morality, attributing cultural or moral challenges directly to the presence or absence of religious education in public schools oversimplifies the issue. Public schools are just one part of a larger societal framework, and the solution to such complex problems likely involves multiple facets of society, not solely the education system.

  14. I only just now realized there was an introduction area. Oops! haha Anyways, I am new here. Been looking to join a new forum that focuses mostly just on community and talking about current things. The last forum I was a member on for many years shut down. I have not been able to find a replacement yet. This one looks and feels promising though! I hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to e-meeting new people :D

  15. Lost Legends of the Web: A Tribute to Our Favorite Offline Forums Welcome to the Lost Legends section of The Forum Addicts Club! From the early days of the internet, forums have been the cornerstone of online communities. They've been spaces of passionate discussions, friendships, and innumerable shared experiences. However, with the evolution of the web, many of these beloved spaces have gone offline, leaving behind memories and nostalgia. In this space, we invite you to share and celebrate the forums that once held special places in our digital hearts. Whether you were an admin, a lurker, a top poster, or even if you stumbled upon an old forum just once and it left an impression — we want to hear about it! What to Share? Stories: Were you the owner or moderator of a forum that's now offline? Share your stories — the challenges, the triumphs, the hilarious ban moments, and more. Memories: Remember that time when everyone stayed up all night discussing the season finale of a show? Or when the forum collectively decided to have a theme day? Dive into your memory bank and let us reminisce with you. Images: Got a screenshot of the old forum's layout, logo, or any memorable threads? Share it with us! While forums might go offline, the memories and friendships last. Let's come together to pay tribute, share stories, and perhaps, reconnect with some old forum friends. Who knows? 17. That is the issue with humans nowadays. They get lazier & lazier with all this tech. Thinking tech will save them & protect them. They don't realize that those behind the tech can monitor us.

  23. I have written over 40 poems and all I can tell you is that you need to have some sort of inspiration to be able to write a poem. It's not something you just wake up and start doing. Your poems must be tied to where your inspiration comes from. As long as you still feel inspired, you will keep writing but the moment you lose your inspiration, it's going to be very difficult for you to write one poem.

  26. Yeah, that's what I hate about the trend of "just do everything on your phone". The more you do that, the more you're relying on a single point of failure... one that tends to fail when I most need it >_< . I do have a camera on my phone, which is pretty good, and I use it when I'm out and about. But, for taking pictures at home, I still have a camera 😛 .

  28. Yeah, I have friends from all across the spectrum. Admittedly, there are some people I just don't talk politics with if I can avoid it - but, it doesn't stop me from being friends with them if we have other stuff in common. Generally, different political views is only a problem for me if: a) They want to try and convince me to join their side, or; b) They plan to talk about politics all the time, or; c) They have views that are genuinely beyond the pale (as in, truly fascist or something like that).

  29. I'm friends with a lot of people of different political beliefs. I'm generally not friends with extremists, and it has less to do with their beliefs, and more to do with them just being insufferable people. They tend to be the types of people where they base their personality off of one defining feature about them.

  37. Yeah, I think the ability to be yourselves around one another is the most important thing. Being around them shouldn't feel like work: it should be a method of re-charging your batteries, not something that drains them further.

  39. The truth is that private browsing is looking more and more appealing to me for when I randomly search stuff as the ad formulas are so aggressive anymore that a single oddball search lands me so many news articles, banners, etc for a topic I really just wanted to know a single thing about. The worst is when I want to find out something let "oh, why is everyone talking about so and so" and then my Google news is just tabloid articles and celebrity news for weeks. Password managers make that a much less stressful task. Although I can't say it is something I would prefer doing even with the added ease.

  40. I picked Both lol because it just depends on the show. Some the English translation is horrible so I go with being dubbed. But then that can be a pain too when I hear the English words but the subtitles are off. I prefer reading my TV shows as I find I have missed so much trying to listen. I just do better with seeing the words.

  42. ACCORDING TO A STATEMENT PUBLISHED THIS PAST FRIDAY, Texas A & M University School of Public Health has a new study finding that resiliency via employee and company is enhanced through remote work. Natural Disasters and the recent pandemic have led to a lot of employees working from home remotely. This particular study included data before, during, and after Hurricane Harvey. Total Computer usage declined during the Hurricane but swiftly returned to normal not seven months after the hurricane hit. Marx Benden the director of the school’s Ergonomics Center is quoted as “In the future, there will be a greater percentage of the workforce who is involved in some sort of office-style technology work activities” “Almost all of the study’s employees were right back up to the same level of output as they were doing before Hurricane Harvey. This is a huge message right now for employers because we’re having national debates about whether or not employees should be able to work remotely or in a hybrid schedule.” The study also suggested that working from home, encourages more frequent breaks to recharge, making working from the homeless likely to result in work-related accidents and better turnaround time with projects.
